Tier 1: The Healthy Foundations Programme
At the heart of building stronger relationships is The Healthy Foundations Programme (HFP)—an 8-week structured programme designed to provide knowledge, tools, and strategies to create positive relationship habits. Available online this programme offers a safe and confidential environment where individuals can learn, reflect, and grow.
Throughout the programme, participants will explore key topics, including:
- Self-care and self-awareness
- Understanding how healthy relationships form
- Recognising healthy vs. unhealthy behaviours
- Effective communication and conflict resolution
- Identifying coercion and control in relationships
- Setting personal boundaries and understanding power dynamics
- Safe social media use and online dating
- The impact of conflict and domestic abuse on children
- The 10 key signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships
To support learning, participants receive a comprehensive workbook and web-based resource pack (Padlet). A completion letter can also be provided upon request.
Tier 2: Change 4U Behaviour Change Programme
For individuals who recognise that their own behaviour has negatively impacted their relationships, the Change4U Behaviour Change Programme offers an intervention-based approach to stop abusive behaviours and replace them with healthier, safer more respectful interactions.
This programme is available for both men and women , of any sexuality who are 18 and over;
In order to be invited for an assessment its essential a level of responsibility is acknowledged for using abusive relationship behaviours at the point of referral. The programme covers the following;
- Intimidation and coercion vs. respect and negotiation
- Emotional abuse vs. intimacy and vulnerability
- Gender privilege vs. equality and partnership
- Sexual abuse vs. sexual respect
- Abusive parenting vs. responsible parenting
Offering one-to-one and group-based support via phone, video, or face-to-face sessions, this programme provides participants with practical tools to change harmful patterns and build healthy, fulfilling relationships.
For individuals with more complex, high-risk needs, particularly those engaged in the criminal justice system, it is a requirement that Behaviour Change is part of a Multi-agency approach to increase safety, therefore referrals are only accepted when the Programme can work alongside Criminal Justice colleagues and Health and Social Care Colleagues.
The programme also provides support for partners, ex-partners, and family members to help keep families safe while the individual works on their behaviour change.
Additional Support Services
Recognising that behaviour change impacts more than just the individual, Change 4U also offers dedicated support services for partners, family members, and loved ones who may have been affected by abusive behaviour.
Partner/Family Support Service
This service offers a safe space for partners and family members—both past and present—to explore what needs to change in their relationships while receiving guidance on self-confidence, safety, boundaries, recovery and personal growth.
